Buddhist Meditation and Mindfulness is a Leaven Community spiritual circle. Join us Saturday mornings in the Leaven Community sanctuary from 9:00 am to 10:30 am (5431 NE 20th Ave). We are learning, discussing and practicing the many teachings found in Buddhism.
We meditate for fifty minutes (divided into three parts: two twenty minute sitting periods broken up by a ten minute walking meditation). No prior meditation experience needed, just come as you are and be prepared to learn something new about yourself! Please show up 15 minutes early if you would like a quick how-to on meditation.
Following meditation a team leader offers a topic and story for group discussion and reflection based on a basic Buddhist concept. By coming together each week we strengthen each other's mindfulness practice, enjoy community and develop a more mindful outlook with which to live in our interconnected world. Refreshments and conversations occur afterward in the sunroom.
